HAPPY HEART DAY - Valentine's Day Card

One of my favorite stamp sets is Happy Heart Day by Stampin' Up. Without fail, I make at least a few cards from this set every year. I made this Valentine's Day Card to send to my in-laws.

Materials Used

Big Shot Cutting Machine
Sizzix XL Die A2 Card with Circle
12" x 12" Great White Cardstock
Martha Stewart White Lace Ribbon Set
Stampin Up Large Tag Punch
Stampin' Up Patterns Love DSP
Stampin' Write Markers
Happy Heart Day Stamp Set
Martha Stewart Glue Pen
Stampin Up Dazzling Diamonds Glitter
Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad
Paper Cutter
Dry Adhesive - I used 1/4" Wonder Tape
Stampin' Up Dimensionals
Stamp-a-ma-jig

Directions

  • Using the Big Shot Cutting Machine and the Sizzix XL Die A2 Card with Circle cut one full card using half of a sheet of 12" x 12" Great White Cardstock. Set Aside.
  • Using the Big Shot Cutting Machine and the Sizzix XL Die A2 Card with Circle cut a partial card (the Circle side) out of Stampin' Up Patterns Love DSP. Using a paper cutter carefully trim the die cut so that you have only the front of the card.
  • Cut 2 pieces of Martha Stewart White Lace Ribbon Set (6 1/2" & 5"), and attach to top and right side of DSP using dry adhesive on front and scotch tape on the back.
  • On a piece of Great White Paper, stamp the Happy Valentine's Day Tag image with Jet Black StazOn Ink Pad.
  • Using the Stampin Up Large Tag Punch, carefully align the image with the punch and punch out image.
  • Using a Glue Pen, carefully apply glue to the hearts on the tag. Using a piece of folded scrap paper or a Powder Pal, carefully apply Stampin Up Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. (Tip: I like to place a piece of scrap paper over the loose glitter and press down to set the glitter.) Next, remove all remaining loose glitter and replace it into the container.
  • Use Stampin' Up Dimensionals to attach the tag to the corner where the lace ribbons meet. Then attach DSP to the Card using adhesive of your choice.
  • Stamp the Mouse Holding Heart image onto Stamp-a-ma-jig. Use the stamped image to align the Mouse on the inside of the card so that the phrase sits below the circle cut-out. Use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the image.
  • I used Stampin' Write markers to color the mouse.
